We shot this film over one day with one reel of super 8 mm film. No editing, all shot in sequential order. As we were moving between two time frames, the present and the past, we needed two locations near to each other, a bedroom and a ballroom. We had to time every shot so it was one of the most challenging and rewarding films I have made.
On reflection I started too slow but I love the ending - the way the film runs out on her close-up.
The beauty of the project is that there is no play back, so we didn't see the final film until it was projected at the beautiful Regent Street Cinema, London.
We were in the top 25 films so a Straight 8 finalist, 2019.
