I was recently part of a team of filmmakers shortlisted to pitch for a Visit England / Creative England film.
Working with Wavelength Films (Executive producers) and Producer Anita Lewton I pitched as Writer/Director. We were one of four teams interviewed but unfortunately we were not selected to make the final film. But it was an interesting process. I was initially inspired by the Visit England brief as it spoke of England as a place of childhood holidays and childhood memories and this resonated with the type of work I produce.
We all worked hard to make our pitch the best it could be. My ideas came from literature T.S. Eliot’s Four Quartets and Alice in Wonderland. My idea was around a group of friends rediscovering the freedom they had as children whilst holidaying in England. I am now left with this beautiful idea that will for now remain an idea, not to be realised in film.
