Positive Cinema

The project aimed to use the power of cinema to build character strengths and values in targeted groups of disadvantaged young people in Norfolk aged 16-24. Films not only enable one to be entertained and escape but also allow the viewer to immerse themselves in the characters' lives, explore their strengths and weaknesses, and navigate various problems and potential solutions.

The National Lottery Community Fund funded this project, and we would like to thank Norwich 4 Jobs for all their support. Working with the Sir John Hurt Film Trust, Jean managed the course and productions and led the filmmaking team to produce four short films written by students with scriptwriter Bel Greenwood. 

The filmmaker and sound designer Paul Thompson also worked on the individual films.
